fragflow

Counter-Strike 2 · Windows

Your best rounds are
already recorded.

Point fragflow at the folder your demos land in. It finds the aces, the clutches and the multi-kills on its own, then renders them using the copy of CS2 you already own — so the headshot pings and body hits are the real thing, not an approximation.

Free and MIT-licensed. No account, no subscription, nothing uploaded — your demos and your renders never leave your machine.

Before rendering: install CS2, PostgreSQL 17+ and CS Demo Manager. Read the full setup checklist.

  1. demo lands in your folder
  2. highlights detected
  3. render
  4. montage.mp4

A demo goes in, a montage comes out

Four screens, and only two of them need you. Here is the whole application, start to finish.

The fragflow window itself. Recorded from the app, no gameplay footage in this clip.
The Matches screen: a list of matches on the left, and on the right the moments found in one Mirage match, each with its tags, kill count and timeline
Matches. Every moment it found, with the tags that earned it a place: ace, 1v3 clutch, wallbang, no-scope. The bar under each one is the clip itself — solid where the action is, hatched where the quiet stretch gets sped up.
The Videos screen: cards showing one render in progress with a time estimate, one queued, and three finished montages
Videos. Rendering drives CS2 one clip at a time, so it reports what it is actually doing and how long is left. Finished montages export at 16:9 or cropped to 9:16.
The Dashboard screen: match count, moment count, K/D, headshot percentage, best moment, and a breakdown of moments per map
Dashboard. What is in your library and what came out of it, counted from the demos rather than from a scoreboard screenshot.
The Settings screen showing the dependency check: demo parser, PostgreSQL, CS Demo Manager, HLAE and FFmpeg, each with a version and a status
Settings. One dependency check tells you exactly which of the five pieces is missing and what it is for, before a render can fail on it.

No AI, no cloud, no queue

It reads, it doesn't guess

Kills, headshots, clutches and aces are literal events recorded inside the demo file. Finding them is parsing, not inference — which is why there is nothing to host and nothing to charge you for.

Real game audio

Clips are recorded by driving the actual game engine, so what you hear is what the round sounded like. Nothing is reconstructed from a sound library afterwards.

Already done when you open it

New demos are analysed the moment they appear in the folder, so the moments are waiting for you. The per-clip controls are there for when you disagree, not as a toll booth in front of your first video.

The full moment, not just the kills

Most highlight tools cut the time between your kills. You get four frags with the connective tissue removed — no rotation, no reload, no defuse. Dense, but flat. fragflow makes it your call.

Cut to kills

Just the action, stitched tight.

Full moment

One continuous take, nothing removed.

Default

Speed up the quiet bits

Continuous, but rotations, plants and defuses fly by. Speed adapts to the length of the gap, so the pacing stays even whether you rotated for six seconds or forty.

What you need

Finding highlights works immediately. Recording drives CS2 through CS Demo Manager, so complete this checklist before your first render.

Included with fragflow

  • Demo parser and highlight detection
  • Local library, presets and montage post-processing
  • No separate Node.js install for the Windows app

Install before rendering

  • CS2 installed through Steam and a GPU capable of running it
  • PostgreSQL 17 or later with Server and Command Line Tools, running on the default port 5432
  • CS Demo Manager installed and connected to PostgreSQL

Check once after installing

  • Add PostgreSQL's bin folder to PATH so psql works
  • Open a new terminal and confirm csdm runs
  • Open fragflow Settings and run the dependency check
  • Keep Steam running and signed in while recording
  • Allow internet access when the first render downloads HLAE and FFmpeg

If csdm is not found, add C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Programs\CS Demo Manager to PATH, then restart fragflow. See the official CS Demo Manager setup guide for database and PATH troubleshooting.

What's new

fragflow quietly lets you know when an update is available. Download and install it from Settings when you are ready.
